Verbal autopsy is conducted by physicians, nurses, or midwifes from hospitals. Therefore, the hospitals are responsible for transmitting verbal autopsy data. Health facilities must report cause of death data (whether from verbal autopsy or medical certificate of cause of death) on a monthly basis to the District/City Health Office. The District /City Health Office reports cause of death data quarterly to the Provincial Health Office and Ministry of Health.
For a death referred to the MLDI system, does the law specify how cause of death information is transmitted to the civil registrar and/or statistics agency?
