The Ministry of Home Affairs and the Department of Population and Civil Registration established the Population Administration Information System (SIAK) to maintain data on the registration of vital events, identity cards and numbers, and residence registration. Every district civil registration office is connected to SIAK. Therefore, when a death is registered at the district, it is automatically included in the population register.
